  • Better Late Than Never....

I am very, very late posting this week... since tomorrow is Sunday!

We are gearing up for the first of several very busy weeks at First Baptist.

This Wednesday Night June 3 our friends Jeremiah and Carrrie Ferguson with thier children Edie, Morgan and Jed will visit on thier way to a family vacation- We are having a Fellowship Dinner at 6:00 Wednesday night to welcome our good friends back. Many have been out the last two weeks due to graduations, Memorial Day, and many other reasons that always come up this time of year. Let's all try to be here WEdnesday night to welcome our friends the Fergusons back. They were such a blessing to all of us when they were here, and it will be wonderful to see them at First Baptist again! A sign up sheet is on the back table in the Auditorium.

This Saturday, June 6 there will be a Homeschool Community Fair on the grounds of Frist Baptist. Classical Conversations is hosting and many vendors and organizations will be represented. There will be a bouncy house provided by the church, food vendors, and many rescources for those interested in homeschooling. Members of FBC are needed to man the Boucy House and the church table where we will tell those interested why we are a truly different Baptist Church in Harford County, one worthy of thier visiting.

Saturday June 13 we will have a church picnic at Rocks State Park in the Wilson's Picnic area next to the St. Clair Bridge, on St. Clair Bridge Rd. We don't have the pavillion, but I will be there extra early to hold enough picnic tables for us near the creek bend. We will be near the creek because we are also baptizing several on that day! If you want or need to be baptized, please contact me through email, facebook, or just a phone call. Or you can talk to me before or after any service at church.

Sunday June 28 is the 60th anniversary of a church at our location. From 1955 to 2004 Harord Furnace Baptist met at our location and experienced the blessings of God. Since 2004 First Baptist has honored that heritage while embracing the future. A big event is planned for that day, details will be coming in the next week or so...

Tomorrow morning I will be preaching the third message in the series "A Reporters Life" looking at the Who, What, When, Where, Why and How of getting our message, the Good News, to everyone we meet.

Tomorrows Message poses the question "When?" and focuses on the excuses we use to keep ourselves from fulfilling the Great Commission.

If you haven't been in church for a while, tomorrow is the best day to get back! God never refuses your return to Him. And this preacher never needs a reason, an apology or an excuse to welcome you back to God's House. Just come, just as you are, and I promise that The God of Heaven will meet you at the point of your need when you bring your brokeness, your pain, your need to him.

See you at 10:30 tomorrow morning

    'Till Jesus Returns,

    Pastor Dave
